Returning to Mass
FEAST OF THE ASCENSION
Saturday | May 23 | 5 PM
Sunday | May 24 | 9:15 AM
Our hearts are filled with joy, as we take the first steps toward celebrating Mass together again. Your safety and health are of utmost importance to us. Rest assured that we are making every effort to ensure that all the necessary safeguards will be in place.
As we have stressed in the past, if you fall within the 'vulnerable' category, as defined by the CDC, we recommend you stay home. Please remember that the obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues to be suspended in the Diocese of Richmond.
Do not feel that attendance is mandatory, just because it is available.
A pre-recorded Mass will continue to be streamed on our Facebook Page at 11:15 AM every Sunday for the foreseeable future.
While we are still a warm and welcoming faith community, church will look, feel, and sound differently for the foreseeable future. We will continue to have capacity restrictions during this first phase, and, therefore, have opened a lottery system for Mass attendance.
Every week, the lottery will open on Monday morning and will close at 9 PM on Wednesday. Once the random selection is completed, a separate direct email will be sent to the selected parishioners on Thursday or Friday with further instructions.
If you are considering entering the lottery to attend a weekend Mass, please review the following helpful and important information. Taking a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the diocesan guidelines will help us set expectations as to what Mass will be like when we return.
We ask God to keep us safe and call upon the Holy Spirit to guide us.
We kindly ask for your continued patience and understanding, as we prepare to transition into the first phase of reopening and celebrating public Masses.
