Inspiration for the Week

We have only so much psychological and spiritual energy. We get tired easily. Responding to life's demands and people's needs can really zap us of our energy. Anger, frustration, exhaustion, discouragement, helplessness, and even apathy can run wild. We can find ourselves bitter and irritated by the fact that we have to do it all again. We need to rest, connect, and focus.
Deserted places, free of unnecessary distractions and demands, are great places of refreshment, and we all need them. Desiring to be alone for a bit and rest does not indicate selfishness. Rather, it radiates wisdom. God is the source of all we do and the satisfaction of every human heart. If we are going to use the gifts God gave us well, then we have to make sure our batteries are recharged and replenished. Jesus invites us to go to a desert place to rest and pray. Where is yours?

Attention Singers
Join the Choir!
What glorious music you are lifting up to the Lord!
Now that we are singing at Mass again, it is worth noting the wonderful sound coming from the community at prayer! Some of you singers may be interested in joining the Choir for the upcoming year. The Choir will resume normal rehearsals in August.
If you have ever contemplated joining the Choir or our Music Ministry in some other capacity, now is the time to act on that Spirit-driven notion!

Children's Liturgy of the Word
Coming Back August 1
9:15 AM Sunday Mass
After the Opening Prayers, we will invite forward all school -aged children to be dismissed to participate in their own Liturgy of the Word in our Chapel. Our Children's Church provides our younger parishioners with the opportunity to hear the Word of God at their own level. The children are returned to the assembly after the homily, during the Prayers of the Faithful, as we transition into the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Our trained leaders will make sure that your children get back to you.
Volunteers Needed
Adults are needed to serve as Leaders and Assistant Leaders.
Teens (Grades 6-12) are invited to volunteer!

Rite of Christian Initiation for Children
Sessions Start August 22
Becoming Catholic
The RCIA adapted for children is a process that invites any child aged 7 to 17 interested in discovering what the Catholic Church teaches and believes. It is open to unbaptized children, children baptized in another faith, and children who may be baptized but who have not practiced their Catholic faith regularly. Like the adult process, children's initiation is accomplished in a comfortable, friendly, and informal environment designed for them.

Renew Your Love Story
Marriage Enrichment
Whether you were married for a few months or a few decades before the pandemic, the daily work on our vocations of married life were put to an incredible test over the last few months.
Married Couples Mini-Retreat
It's time to take deep breath and a short break with your spouse and renew your love story! Our Marriage Enrichment Ministry (Adult Faith Formation) will be hosting a mini-retreat that includes prayer, music, couples and small group sessions on The Virtues of Marriage.
Saturday | August 14
3 PM - 8 PM | Lake House
The retreat also includes the 5 PM Saturday Mass and Dinner.
Cost: $25/Couple (retreat capacity: 32 couples)
